The Journey At Pechanga is a public 18-hole golf course located in Temecula, California, 60 miles north of San Diego. The golf course is an amenity at the upscale Pechanga Resort & Casino, a venture of the Pechanga Band of Luiseno Indians..
The Journey At Pechanga opened in 2008. The course was designed by Arthur Hills and Steve Forrest.
Each hole features a Luiseno name, and the course is sprinkled with cultural exhibits that relate the story of the tribe. The golf course, routed over the beautifully rolling terrain between Pechanga Creek and the adjacent mountainside, weaves its way through numerous stands of mature California live oaks and provides stunning vistas of the Temecula Valley and the surrounding mountains. Journey sets out at the base of a large mountain, crosses the Pechanga River, a dry wash, then basically sets off into the sky.
Journey makes no pretense about being a walking-friendly course. The soaring elevation changes mandate using a cart, but the payoff comes on the 488-yard, par-4 6th, which plunges 175 feet from tee to fairway, then another 100 feet down to the green. The hang time there is, between 8 and 10 seconds.
The Journey At Pechanga plays to a par-72 and measures 7,219 yards from the tips.

to get a better appreciation of this course two rounds would be suggested, views are outstanding and different from multiple tee boxes.

I was really challenged by this course, as a beginner. I am setting a goal to practice and return in a couple months to hit some of the shots I missed. I had a great time and loved every minute of it. Will definitely make it a regular stop on my tour. Great staff, great food, great time.

Difficult course in very good condition. A bit gimmicky with large trees in the middle of several fairway landing areas. Not sure I could take a daily dose of this track, but something different and challenging.

I found the course to be in good shape in spite of the drought. There are a lot of shots that you have to carry and some blind shots. You have many vistas but, the track is kind of gimmicky. Staff very friendly and helpful.

I've played a lot of courses in Southern California and this track is arguably the best one I've played. The course overall was in great shape, with the exception of few areas around the course that were over watered and mushy. It's a fairly challenging track with many forced carries and doglegs. The only gripe I would have is the harsh elevation changes from tee to fairway on some of the holes on the front 9, which to me are a little gimmicky. I paid $69 twilight, which was a good deal all things considered and would play again at this price.

I'm not sure if I'd play there again. The layout is nice and it's well taken care of. However, the pace of play was terrible and there is no marshall to go around pushing groups to keep up. For me, playing 5.5 hours basically cancels out any enjoyment the nice layout and conditions gave.

Greens were in great condition. The layout of the course was difficult and unfair in some instances. Overall condition of the fairways, tee boxes, greens, etc. were great. The clubhouse was beautiful and comfortable. The staff were helpful and courteous.

Played this course on a bounce back coupon so the $60 fee was very reasonable. Normally this course is over $100. However, if you have not played the course before, the more expensive rate is worth it. We had a two hour frost delay but the staff handled it well. The course is a fantastic layout with no hole the same. There are some very dramatic elevation changes with the 6th hole being the most spectacular. The greens were perfect, the overseeded fairways very green and uniform, and the bunkers in great shape. I have played here about 6 times and my only complaint is that you can expect at least a 5 hour round. The course is pretty difficult for most golfers (please pick a tee one up from your usual), and the distance between holes adds significant time to your round. And, at times, they often sneak groups in front of you on the back nine which slows fast groups down. But, I am nitpicking as this is a great course with a super hotel and casino. Give it a visit!
